Merry Xmas Everyone!

I got a bone, and another bone, and had turkey for dinner, and got a big 6' high solid jump to bounce over (except I've not been able to play with that yet because everywhere is flooded).

Preparing for Take Off

I love running in the fields.  Mudder said I was running so fast and my ears were flapping so hard that she thought I was going to take off and fly!

Jumping for Joy

Part of my training includes jumping over things.  I love bouncing - can't you tell from the smile on my face?  Woohoo, oh the wonderful thing about Max is, that Max is a wonderful thing.  My tops are made out of rubbers, my bottoms are made out of springs.  They're bouncy, flouncy trouncy, pouncy, fun, fun, fun, fun, FUN!  The wonderful thing about Max is, that I'm the only one!

Never let a dog loose with a paintbrush

Especially, never let a dog near anything to do with gloss paint EVER!

My freshly painted walls are now covered in brown hairs, and my brown dog is covered in more white patches than ever before!

Sigh, never a dull moment with a German Shorthaired Pointer.

Playing Around

Mudder's found a new toy to play with!  I like my hat, but what was she thinking putting those specs on me?!?

I've been playing lots too now that I'm feeling better again.   I love most playing in the fields.  The other week I found a live mouse and took that to Mudder as a present, and today I found a yummy leg of. . . well I'm not sure what it was, but it was delicious.  I didn't want to share that with Mudder, but when I showed her what I had she took it off me and gave me a new toy so I played with that instead.  I do love playing around.

Remind me AGAIN about Spacial Awareness?

I've been a poorly pup.  I was running really really fast having so much fun, when the next thing I knew I was tangled up in a wire fence.  The nasty fence sliced my dew claw and Mudder had to take me to the hospital. The doggy doctor spoke really nice to me, and then I don't remember what happened next, I seemed to just fall asleep.

When I woke up I didn't have a dew claw any more, just a funny stump, and I felt really woozy.  Mudder picked me up later on and I slept for two days afterwards in my big comfy bed.  I feel much better now.

A few months ago when I was running, a concrete post appeared out of nowhere and gave me a proper donk on the head and cut my eye.  That was another trip to the doggy doctor.

Mudder says I've got no spacial awareness.  I don't know what she means but I'm pleased I've not got it because I'm scared of heights and don't want to go into space.

On Track

I've started my formal Working Trials training and am loving it.  I get to run off and sniff around until I find stuff then I rush back to show my Mudder it and she plays with me and gives me lots of treats.  I also get to sniff really exciting tracks and follow them to the end.  I love that game too.  Mudder says she's really pleased with me and that I'm right on track with my training.

Prize Winner

Mudder entered me into a doggie talent competition the other week.  There were 10 dogs all performing their acts.  Mudder and me played our game where she walks round eating cake, and without speaking to me I knew when she wanted me to roll over, jump high, sit, stand, lie down, run off, come back, and go fetch her slippers.  You see when Mudder puts cake in her mouth, I watch very closely in case there are any crumbs.  That's when Mudder moves her hand and I know just what she wants me to do.  At the end of the evening the audience votes were counted and it was announced that I had come joint first place with another dog.  We both had to perform again, but second time around Mudder was so stuffed full of cake she couldn't eat any more so the other doggy won overall first place.  See I can be good sometimes, I've got a prize to prove it!

Rathbones of Keswick

My Farter left his soft wibbly wobbly gloves lying around so I decided to play with them.  They were so much fun.  I could thrown them round the house, then pounce on them, then play fight with them.

By the time Farter discovered what I was having so much fun with, his gloves had become fingerless and well ventilated.  Uh oh, you guessed it, I was in trouble . . . again!!!

Farter emailed Rathbones of Keswick to ask if they still sold them as he was very upset and wanted another pair.  Mr Rathbone was very understanding and promptly emailed Farter back telling him a new pair were on their way!

I like Mr Rathbone.  He made Farter very happy AND he also posted a yummy dog biscuit with the gloves just for me!

It's all about Cake

This is my birthday cake.  My Mudder loves cake and treated me to this one for my birthday.  There are a few less candles on it now than when I got it, but its a great fun toy.  My Farter made me a HUGE birthday cake to take to dog training and I got to share it with all my human friends.  I was so excited I ran round and round the hall with my tail wagging all night, ignoring my Mudder and not doing any of the dumb tricks that she's taught me to do.  Mudder wasn't pleased, but hey ho, I've got my cake and I'm gonna eat it!

Headless Chicken

All this rain, rain, mud and rain means my Mudder has been running round like a headless chicken cleaning / drying / cleaning / drying / cleaning everything, so I thought I'd join in cause I really do like headless chickens, they are so much fun.

This is me stood still for a nano second, just before I spotted a dead bird and rushed off to eat it.  Yum.  Then I found a dead fish for pudding.  Delicious.  Then I gave my Mudder a big slobbery kiss and she's been spitting in disgust ever since.  Why?

End of a Long Weekend

It's been a long and tiring weekend involving lots of mud, water, mud and just a little bit more mud still.

This is me taking some time out to watch the sun go down before I head to bed (yawn).

Look There's Another Dog in the Water!

I've got used to my cage in the car now and am happy to jump in and out of it.  It means we can go to the water to play.  Today the water was very still and I kept seeing another dog just like me!  Every time I bounced on it to play, the water moved and the other dog disappeared.  We had great fun playing together but I never did figure out where the other dog kept hiding.

Tough Day on Dog Blog

It's been a strange ol' day today.

Firstly my Mudder rolls out of bed in her PJ's, puts her waterproofs on top and takes me down to the lake for a run and swim.  On the way back as we were driving along a busy main road the car boot pops open and I see all the cars coming up fast towards me, so I jumped out of the boot onto the road.  My Mudder freaked out a bit in her pink PJ's but I watched as she stopped the car on the verge and came back to collect me.

Luckily no harm was done, but we were both shook up afterwards.  Now my Mudder has bought me a cage for the back of the car.  I don't want to go in it so I just lie down on the ground and give the ol' sad eyes trick.

Er, did you say DON'T eat the ear drops?

I had to go and see the doggy doctor because I've got a mucky ear.  He prodded and poked and squirted stuff in it.  As he put a bottle of ear drops on the counter I'm sure I heard him tell my Mudder they were for me, so I ate them.  Between you and me they tasted quite nice, much better than having them squirted in the side of my head.

Top of the Class

My Mudder threatened not to take me back to doggie school ever again after I disgraced myself last week.  Oh no!  I love going to meet all my mates.  Ok, so maybe I do get just a teensy bit bouncy and excited, but hey it is so much fun!

I decided to behave this week so I can keep on going back.  Mudder couldn't believe I was the same dog.  I was calm, placid and I didn't bounce on a single person!  Whilst all the other dogs were playing and bouncing on top of each other, Mudder let me off the lead and I did all my exercises perfectly including:-
  • Sit, wait, then come to Mudder when she called me, and sat nicely at her side
  • Sit, stand and down stays
  • Heelwork around other dogs
  • Retrieve
  • Send away across other side of the hall and lie down when told
  • Roll over
I heard Mudder tell Farter that she will take me back to doggie skool again,  yippee!

This cold white stuff is so much fun.  When I put my nose to the ground it moves forwards!  I think it is alive so I've spent all day chasing it round and round the garden, but it stays just ahead of my nose.  When I pounce on it, it disappears until I stick my nose down and find it moving once again.

Snow Off

Misbehaving at dog training?  Me?  Surely not!

Do I look like a hyperactive, out of control, loony tunes bonkers 24kg super bouncy rubber ball shooting off in all directions faster than the speed of light?

They say the camera never lies, as proven in this photo.  I am a calm, well behaved, placid puppy.   Well, most of the time anyway.

It's just that for some reason, when I go to dog training class, I like to snow off.

Doggy in Disgrace

Tonight I went to dog training and bounced on the trainer and winded her, then I bounced on a man's bits and he talked in a funny high pitched voice for the rest of the night.  I bounced on a kid, then I bounced on her dog, I bounced on a bloke bowling him over, then I bounced on his cup of coffee and I ate his biscuit.  I bounced up the hall, down the hall, all around the hall and all over everyone in the hall.

Now my Mudder has bounced me into bed in disgrace.

Testing the Water

My mate Ziggy called me a Big Wuss because I don't like getting my feet wet.  Ha, guess what Ziggy pal, I went in up to my belly to fetch a big stick today!  Now, when we go on holiday we can play in the park, play in the house, play in the garden, play in the mud AND play in the water too.  Non stop playtime wherever we are weyhey!

So Near, but yet So Far

I love to eat fish, but I don't like water.  I'd love to eat ducks, but I can't reach them cause I won't go in the water.

My mate Ziggy loves water, and when he was here he gave me the confidence to take a few tentative steps into the cold, wet stuff and play with him, but he's gone back home now and I daren't go in on my own.

Fish, ducks, Ziggy.  All the things I love.  So near but yet so far.  It's ruff being a dog sometimes.

Breakfast in Bed

Mudder made me my breakfast but forgot to say the magic word that means I can eat it, and went for a shower instead!  By the time she came downstairs I was drowning in a pool of drool, but I was a good boy and hadn't touched my bowl.

Then Farter made his Weetabix and left it on the worktop to soak before heading off for his shower.  When he came down his bowl was empty.  Mm I wonder why?

I do enjoy breakfast in bed.

Dog Tired

Hah, I wait until my Mudder is sleeping then sneak up on the sofa for a snooze.  Uh oh, caught on camera!  You are dreaming Mudder, honestly!

Ziggy Plays. . . ?

Meet my mate Ziggy who came to play for the whole weekend.  We played in the fields, we played in the house, we played in the garden, we played in the water, we played in the mud, we played ALL the time, and 'Oh yeah, Ooooooo, Ziggy playyyyed guitaarrrrrr!'

He wore me out, and I've slept since he went home again.

Whoosh - New Years Resolution Flies out the Window!

Technically, it was my Mudder & Farters NY Resolution that I would in fact stop eating everthing in sight - Hah!

So far this year. . .

My Farter left a bunch of bananas on the worktop, so I ate them, yum.  Then we all went for a walk in the woods and I ate some local wildlife too - yum.  2 hours later I barfed up the local wildlife and my Farter slid in it and messed up his slippers, so I ate them, they were a bit tough.

Oh, and I've just discovered how to flip up the lid on the dog treat container in the kitchen (above).  Life is good.  Happy New Year to you all!

Looking to the Future

Happy New Year everyone!!!

Behind every cloud the sun is always shining, so take joy and splash through the puddles in the muddy waters of life.

Wishing you all the very best for 2012.
